What is the Motability Scheme?

The Motability Scheme allows eligible people to lease a new car, scooter, or powered wheelchair using their Government-funded mobility allowance. It offers a simple, worry-free leasing package with a range of benefits, including insurance, servicing, and maintenance, breakdown cover, and replacement tyres.

Who is Eligible for the Motability Scheme?

If you receive one of the following allowances, you may be eligible to join the Motability Scheme:

Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
